Starting over seems to be one of the things I’m really good at. Making new plans gives me energy, thinking of ‘what could have been’, not so much. So, here I am again, starting over. With a new website, and a blog. Why? Because to me it doesn’t matter all that much what I’ve done before. Here and now is all that counts; yesterday’s gone and the things that happened in the past will regularly come back on the table anyway. That’s what I’ve learned up to now. If it is worth anything or relevant, it will reappear anyway. “History”, Stephen Hawking said, “is a nightmare from which I am trying to awake”.
James Joyce wrote, “although I never got to reading the whole freakin’ novel, I agree though”. That statement bares something that I’m completely fascinated with. The fact that everything is ‘there’, out there. You can sense it, but you need time to understand it. You have to be ripe for it. Without reading the whole freaking novel. And if you read it, you might not even understand it, if it’s not the right time for you to truly learn what it is about. Therefore I'm using this blog to let things ripe. It's mostly for myself, to read back every now and then. But I'm not afraid to share where I'm at and when I'm failing to see.
For anyone who really wants to know – for whatever reason – check out my LinkedIn page, Google me, give me a call and we’ll have a coffee. What I currently doing, next to writing, writing, writing and some reading, is working on researching for documentaries with www.rotterdamsebeeldmaatschappij.nl and working on my own foundation with great young people from Spangen (www.creativeactionnow.nl).
So, today is as good a day as any other to start over. Here I go.
